Am I a Massachusetts resident?

The new definition of resident provides that a person can be considered a resident even if that person is not domiciled in Massachusetts.

 

 

You are considered to be a resident of Massachusetts if the following applies to you:

 

  1. You maintain a permanent place of abode in Massachusetts, and
  2. You spend more than 183 days of the taxable year in Massachusetts
