The primary taxpayer’s SSN must match what is on file with the IRS or the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Fix #1: Sign into your RapidTax account to double check the SSN you entered matches what is shown on your social security card. If not, simply update the information from your rejection status page.

Fix #2: If the information you entered seems to be correct to the best of your knowledge, then you may want to paperfile your tax return to the IRS instead. You can do this by signing into your RapidTax account and then printing, signing, and mailing your tax return to the IRS. You should also contact the SSA to update the information within their database.
